Cielzro Aldris, formerly Cielzro Zeanoux, is the second son of his formerly prestigious family. His father was a rich businessman, and his mother a talented singer. For all their posterity though, the Aldris family would never realize their dream of becoming one of the High Houses of Ishgard.In the height of the Dragonsong war, it became known that Cielzro's older brother had ties to Iceheart, and that their parents knew of this fact. This betrayal saw that he and both of their parents were arrested, and subsequently executed during trial by combat. Cielzro was only spared by the testimony that he knew nothing about their alignment and was never present for any of their secret gatherings. As well as the fact that he triumphed in his one-on-one trial by combat.Suddenly, Cielzro found that the small manor his family owned was dreadfully empty. Their riches and popularity meant nothing to him in the wake of their betrayal to Ishgard. Even keeping his family name often brought some modicum of resentment. In the end, Cielzro refused to inherit his small family fortune, and opted to sell the family home and most of everything in it. Additionally, he abandoned his family name in hopes of making a new life and reputation for himself.To cope with the loss of his family, Cielzro turned to the Machinists Guild. He was curious about their way of doing things, and found that he was a natural when it came to inventing and operating their firearms. To boot, he would play a part in facing the Dragon menace and prove to the citizens of Ishgard where his loyalties lie.In the wake of hearing the truth about Ishgard's history with the dragons, Cielzro was among the populace that had a hard time swallowing that pill. Resentment toward the old ways took hold of his heart - realizing that his parents and brother were executed by a society built on lies - and Cielzro made a promise to only work toward a better future. If it meant breaking bread with dragons, then so be it.Now, while he still continues to excel in the invention of firearms, Ciel also spends his time finding new ways to better the lives of the citizens of Ishgard.His circumstances, however, have left many to debate whether or not his sanity remains fully intact... He just seems all too eager to watch things blow up.
